Anastasia Matkovskaia began studying piano at the age of four in Odessa, Ukraine. She later continued her musical education at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory. After finishing her studies in Moscow, she moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music with Tessa Nicholson, graduating in 2021 with First Class Honours.

Anastasia has performed in various concerts and festivals across the UK. Recent appearances include a piano duo recital at St. Michael’s Church, Highgate (London, 2025), a concert with the Fermata Trio at St. Peter’s Belsize Park (London, 2025), Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9 at the
Steyning Festival (Steying, 2024), and chamber music concert at St. James Church, Islington (London, 2024), as well as numerous concerts with the Cambridge Ensemble in Welwyn and Cambridge.

She also enjoys working with contemporary composers and has taken part in events such as the DNA Street Music Festival and Luna Collective Festival in London. Her most recent contemporary project featured a performance of Keith Burstein’s piano trio at the Royal College of Music in
London.

Beyond the concert stage, Anastasia is also an accomplished ballet pianist. She has been appointed as an Associate Pianist with the Royal Ballet (London) for the 2025/2026 season.
