I am a professional clarinettist and experienced music educator based in London, currently studying for a Master of Performance degree at the Royal College of Music, where I previously graduated with First Class Honours. Alongside an active performing career with leading ensembles and orchestras, I am passionate about helping students of all ages and abilities discover confidence, creativity, and enjoyment through music.

Over the past several years, I have taught extensively in both independent and state schools, including Twyford CofE High School, Hill House School, and Chiswick Saturday Music School, as well as through private one-to-one tuition. I work with students ranging from complete beginners to advanced musicians preparing for Grade 8 examinations and beyond. My students have consistently achieved excellent results in ABRSM examinations, with a 100% pass rate across all exam candidates.

As a performer, I regularly work with professional ensembles and have appeared with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, and a variety of chamber groups and recording projects. This professional experience allows me to bring real-world musical knowledge into every lesson, helping students develop not only technical skills but also a deeper understanding of performance, musicianship, and artistic expression.

My teaching philosophy centres on the belief that every student learns differently. I create personalised lesson plans tailored to each individual’s goals, interests, and learning style, ensuring that lessons remain engaging, challenging, and rewarding. Whether a student is learning for enjoyment, preparing for examinations, working towards auditions, or building confidence through music, I aim to provide a supportive environment in which they can thrive.

I have extensive experience working with children and young people with a wide range of educational needs and regularly collaborate with parents, school staff, and Special Educational Needs departments to ensure that every student receives the support they need to succeed. I believe that progress comes most effectively when students feel encouraged, understood, and motivated.

Beyond instrumental tuition, I place great importance on developing broader musical skills, including listening, ensemble playing, performance confidence, sight-reading, and creativity. I regularly encourage students to take part in concerts and performance opportunities, helping them build confidence and enjoy sharing their music with others.

Above all, my goal is to inspire a lifelong enjoyment of music while helping every student achieve their full potential in a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
