Russian flutist Anna Romanovskaya is currently studying at the Royal College of Music with Professor Gitte Marcusson. In 2014, she studied at the Moscow Gnessin School in the class of Zoya Vyazovskaya.

In 2025, Anna was awarded a full scholarship at the Royal College of Music (£30,000 per year). Moreover, she has applied to several prestigious foundations, such as the Drake Calleja Trust, Help Musicians, and the Pavel Kushnir Foundation.

In October 2018, she won first prize at the Third International Flute Competition in Varna, Bulgaria. In September 2019, Anna received first prize at the international festival/competition “Singing Planets” in Vienna, Austria, where she was given the opportunity to perform with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. In October 2019, she won second prize at the youth competition “La Côte” in Bern, Switzerland. In 2023, Anna participated in the 10th Summer Flute School in Croatia, where she studied with Herman Van Kogelberg and Professor Robert Winn. In the same year, she attended the Oxford Summer Flute School, where she studied with Adam Walker and Robert Winn. In 2026, Anna has performed an Anniversary concert as a orchestra member in Smith Square Hall.

She has extensive experience performing in large ensembles, including brass bands, where she performed works such as Festive Overture by Shostakovich and the overture to The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart. In addition, she has four years of experience playing in a private symphony orchestra and two years in a school symphony orchestra, where she performed works such as Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3, Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, and Dvořák’s Symphonies No. 8 and No. 9, among others.

Regarding her teaching and volunteering experience, Anna has frequently assisted her teachers at summer events and various competitions at her school. She has also completed teaching training in college, which enables her to work professionally with children. In addition, she has experience working with children aged 5 to 13, including those without a musical background, for example in a children’s acting group.

Anna has over 5 years of teaching experience in flute, piano, and music theory (solfeggio). In Russia, she was trained according to the methodologies of her teachers, while during her studies in England she has been teaching using internationally recognised method books such as Flute Basics, Piano Adventures, Alfred’s Basic Piano Library, and ABRSM materials including Music Theory in Practice, Exam Pieces, and Scales & Arpeggios.
